This original 6x8 watercolor painting "Poppy Bouquet" by Rebecca Bishop was completed en plein air (outdoors) in Alpine, Utah.

These poppies were more famous than I'd imagined as hundreds of people visited them while I was painting. At one point, a photographer had a couple lay down in the dirt underneath the same poppies I was painting! It wasn't easy to focus on my painting as the photographer posed them under my easel for their engagement photos.

Original watercolor painting is on 100% cotton handmade deckled paper and has been mounted in an 8x10 wood frame.

As a plein air artist navigating brain injury recovery, painting outdoors brings me peace despite the challenges. This peaceful landscape watercolor is part of that healing journey.

This original painting is from the Alpine Poppy Collection of watercolor paintings that has been years in the making. It all started with painting purely from imagination, picturing bright poppies beneath sunlit mountain peaks before I actually saw and painted the Alpine poppies in real life.

This collection has grown from imagination into reality, a tribute to the resiliency of wildflowers and the meaning poppies hold as symbols of remembrance — especially as Independence Day nears.

SHIPPING: This painting will be displayed at the Provo Downtown Art Stroll on August 1st, and will not be shipped to you until after that event.
