Original Painting: Poppy Field

Calm joy permeates nature’s wildflower meadows. Petals floated to the ground as I tried capturing the fleeting beauty of this field of poppies. It was extra special to hear children’s exclamations of beauty as we witnessed the poppy blooms.

Painting “Poppy Field” surrounded by snowy mountains was challenging but filled my soul with happiness.

Original watercolor painting is on 100% cotton handmade deckled paper and has been mounted in an 8x10 wood frame.

As a plein air artist navigating brain injury recovery, painting outdoors brings me peace despite the challenges. This peaceful landscape watercolor is part of that healing journey.

This original painting is from the Alpine Poppy Collection of watercolor paintings that has been years in the making. It all started with painting purely from imagination, picturing bright poppies beneath sunlit mountain peaks before I actually saw and painted the Alpine poppies in real life.

This collection has grown from imagination into reality, a tribute to the resiliency of wildflowers and the meaning poppies hold as symbols of remembrance — especially as Independence Day nears.
