It all started with a little painting called "Mountain Poppies". I painted purely from imagination, picturing bright poppies beneath sunlit mountain peaks before I actually saw the Alpine poppies in real life.
This was the beginning of the "Poppy Collection" of paintings. I imagined poppies under mountains before actually seeing the Alpine Poppies.
This collection has grown from imagination into reality, a tribute to the resiliency of wildflowers and the meaning poppies hold as symbols of remembrance — especially as Independence Day nears.
Original watercolor painting is on 100% cotton handmade deckled paper and has been mounted in an 8x10 wood frame.
As a plein air artist navigating brain injury recovery, painting outdoors brings me peace despite the challenges. This peaceful landscape watercolor is part of that healing journey.
