For years, I dreamed of painting mountains outdoors. While recovering from a brain injury, I often reflected on past hikes I’d taken throughout Utah. The first time I painted the poppies outdoors, I felt so sick afterward that I had to lie down in my car for an hour before driving home.

As a plein air artist navigating brain injury recovery, painting outdoors brings me peace despite the challenges. This peaceful landscape watercolor is part of that healing journey.

This original painting is from the Alpine Poppy Collection of watercolor paintings that has been years in the making. It all started with painting purely from imagination, picturing bright poppies beneath sunlit mountain peaks before I actually saw and painted the Alpine poppies in real life.

This collection has grown from imagination into reality, a tribute to the resiliency of wildflowers and the meaning poppies hold as symbols of remembrance — especially as Independence Day nears.

SHIPPING:  This painting will be displayed at the Provo Downtown Art Stroll on August 1st, and will not be shipped to you until after that event. This original painting will be shipped carefully by the artist to you. Please be patient as the holidays will extend my shipping times. Orders will be fulfilled within about 15-20 days.
