"Spring Poppies" is based off an original watercolor painting from the Alpine Poppy Collection by Rebecca Bishop.
I painted these poppies while sitting next to a rattlesnake den. I didn’t realize it until the next day, when the area was taped off because of snake sightings. Fortunately, I never saw any rattlesnakes while I was painting early that morning, but after that, I've kept my eyes wide open while painting the poppies.
Printed on a beautiful linen paper (up to 12x18 inches) with archival ink. Unframed.
Note, all sizes smaller than 12x18 are printed to the edges (full-bleed) without a white border. The 12x18 print has a small 3/8 inch white border around the image.
This watercolor wildflower painting is part of a healing art collection created outdoors during recovery. As a plein air artist navigating brain injury recovery, painting outdoors brings me peace despite the challenges. This peaceful landscape watercolor is part of that healing journey.
The Alpine Poppy Collection of watercolor paintings has been years in the making. It all started with painting purely from imagination, picturing bright poppies beneath sunlit mountain peaks before I actually saw and painted the Alpine poppies in real life.
This collection has grown from imagination into reality, a tribute to the resiliency of wildflowers and the meaning poppies hold as symbols of remembrance — especially as Independence Day nears.
Please take the time to read descriptions carefully and check colors on multiple screens. I try my best to represent the tones/colors in my artwork honestly and clearly.
